Climate Forward Summit 2026 will convene leading voices and institutions across climate policy, waste management, sustainability, clean energy, manufacturing, circular economy, development, and innovation to explore practical and scalable solutions to Ghana's growing plastics, textile, and electronic waste crisis.
The summit aims to move beyond conversations and inspire coordinated action that transforms waste into opportunity through sustainable production, recycling innovation, clean energy integration, and inclusive climate policies.
CFS 2026 is designed as a collaborative platform where policymakers, private sector actors, researchers, innovators, development partners, students, and environmental advocates can share ideas, build partnerships, and collectively drive Ghana's transition towards a greener and more circular economy.
This year's edition builds on the momentum of the inaugural summit by placing stronger emphasis on implementation, collaboration, and actionable outcomes.
Every year, Ghana generates thousands of tonnes of plastic, textile, and electronic waste. Much of this waste ends up in drains, oceans, dumpsites, and informal recycling communities, causing serious environmental, economic, and public health challenges.
Yet within this crisis lies opportunity.
A circular economy offers Ghana the chance to:
Create jobs through recycling and green manufacturing
Reduce pollution and environmental degradation
Support sustainable industrialisation
Strengthen local innovation
Improve public health outcomes
Build resilient communities
Advance national climate goals and sustainability commitments
A series of public engagement activities will be undertaken to build awareness and encourage participation around climate action and circular economy conversations.
Community-led cleanup activities aimed at highlighting the impact of waste pollution on Ghana's coastlines and waterways.
A sustainability-driven initiative focused on environmental restoration and community participation.
National conversations featuring climate experts, policymakers, recyclers, innovators, and development actors discussing practical climate solutions and the future of waste management in Ghana.
